Editorial Principles

The International Journal of Engineering Concepts and Management is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scholarly publishing through a fair, transparent, and independent editorial process. The journal seeks to publish original, innovative, and scientifically sound research that contributes to the advancement of engineering, technology, management, and interdisciplinary sciences. Editorial decisions are guided solely by academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal's scope.

The Editorial Board operates independently and is responsible for ensuring that every manuscript receives an objective and unbiased evaluation. The journal does not discriminate against authors based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, or political beliefs. All submissions are assessed exclusively on their scholarly quality and contribution to the academic community.

Initial Editorial Assessment

Every manuscript submitted to the journal undergoes an initial editorial screening before being considered for peer review. During this stage, the editorial team evaluates whether the manuscript:

  • Falls within the aims and scope of the journal.
  • Complies with the journal's submission requirements.
  • Demonstrates sufficient originality and scientific relevance.
  • Meets acceptable standards of academic writing and presentation.
  • Adheres to the journal's ethical and publication policies.

Manuscripts that do not satisfy these basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or declined without proceeding to external peer review.

Editorial Decision-Making

Editorial decisions are based on the recommendations of independent peer reviewers together with the professional judgment of the Editor. The journal follows a rigorous evaluation process to ensure that every published article meets internationally accepted standards of scientific quality and publication ethics.

Following peer review, a manuscript may receive one of the following editorial decisions:

  • Accept for publication.
  • Accept subject to minor revisions.
  • Invite major revisions and resubmission.
  • Reject the manuscript.

Where substantial revisions are requested, the revised manuscript may be returned to the reviewers for further assessment before a final decision is reached.

Editorial Independence

The Editorial Board maintains complete independence in all editorial decisions. Editorial judgments are made without influence from advertisers, sponsors, funding organizations, or commercial interests. Financial considerations do not affect the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts.

Editors are expected to act with integrity, impartiality, and professionalism while maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and reviewer identities throughout the editorial process.

Ethical Standards

The journal is committed to promoting responsible research and ethical publishing practices. Editors take appropriate action whenever concerns arise regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, or other forms of research misconduct.

Where ethical concerns are substantiated, the journal may request revisions, reject manuscripts, publish corrections, issue expressions of concern, or retract published articles in accordance with its Publication Ethics and Malpractice Policy.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are treated as confidential documents. Editors, reviewers, and editorial staff shall not disclose information relating to submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, or the publisher when necessary for the publication process.

Unpublished information contained within submitted manuscripts must not be used for personal research or professional advantage without the explicit written consent of the authors.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors are required to disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest that may influence their editorial judgment. Editors who have a personal, professional, financial, or institutional relationship with the authors or the submitted work shall recuse themselves from handling the manuscript, and an alternative editor will be assigned.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors who believe that an editorial decision was made in error may submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief. Appeals should present a clear justification supported by scientific evidence. Each appeal is reviewed independently, and the final decision of the Editor-in-Chief shall be considered conclusive.

The journal also welcomes complaints regarding editorial procedures, publication ethics, or the conduct of reviewers or editors. All complaints are handled fairly, confidentially, and in a timely manner.

Corrections and Retractions

The journal is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. If significant errors or ethical issues are identified after publication, appropriate editorial action may include the publication of corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

Policy Review

The International Journal of Engineering Concepts and Management periodically reviews and updates its Editorial Policy to ensure alignment with internationally recognized publishing standards, ethical guidelines, and best editorial practices. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to comply with the most current version of this policy available on the journal's website.
