Policy Statement

The International Journal of Engineering Concepts and Management is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes that digital preservation is an essential component of responsible academic publishing and has established this Digital Archiving Policy to ensure that published research remains permanently available to the global research community.

The journal continuously works to preserve its published content through reliable digital archiving practices and recognized preservation services, ensuring uninterrupted access to scholarly articles even in the event of technical failures or changes in publishing infrastructure.

Purpose of Digital Archiving

The primary objectives of the journal's digital archiving policy are to:

  • Preserve published scholarly content for future generations.
  • Ensure permanent accessibility of research articles.
  • Protect against accidental data loss or technological failure.
  • Maintain the integrity and authenticity of the scholarly record.
  • Support long-term availability through trusted preservation systems.

Archiving and Preservation

The journal maintains digital copies of all published articles and associated metadata through secure preservation practices. Published content may be archived using one or more of the following methods:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), where applicable.
  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), where available.
  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS), where applicable.
  • Institutional repositories.
  • National or international digital preservation services.
  • Secure server backups maintained by the publisher.

The journal may adopt additional preservation services as they become available to strengthen long-term digital preservation.

Permanent Availability

Once an article is published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record. The journal is committed to ensuring that published articles remain accessible through its official website and, where applicable, through trusted archiving and indexing services.

In cases involving corrections, retractions, or updates, the original publication record will be maintained in accordance with the journal's editorial and publication ethics policies.

DOI and Persistent Access

Where Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are assigned, they provide a persistent and reliable link to published articles, facilitating long-term citation, discovery, and access. The journal is committed to maintaining DOI records and associated metadata to support the continued availability of published research.

Metadata Preservation

In addition to preserving full-text articles, the journal maintains bibliographic metadata to improve discoverability, citation, indexing, and interoperability with scholarly databases and digital repositories.

Preserved metadata may include:

  • Article title.
  • Author information.
  • Abstract.
  • Keywords.
  • Publication details.
  • DOI (where assigned).

Backup and Security

To minimize the risk of data loss, the journal employs routine backup procedures and appropriate security measures for its digital publishing platform. Repository Deposit

Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal academic profiles, provided that proper citation to the original publication in the journal is included. Policy Review

The International Journal of Engineering Concepts and Management periodically reviews its Digital Archiving Policy to ensure alignment with international standards, technological developments, and best practices in digital preservation. The most recent version published on the journal's website shall apply to all published content.
